August 7, 2012 12:32pm
One man was pulled out of the rubble of at least four houses that were buried in a landslide that occurred amid heavy rain in Quezon City Tuesday.

The man was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center, but it was not immediately clear what his condition was, according to a report by radio dzBB's Allan Gatus.

Sketchy initial reports indicated a landslide buried four houses near Litex Road in Commonwealth village in the city's Fairview area.

Rescue teams from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Red Cross and Army were still trying to search for survivors as of Tuesday noon, the report said.

Heavy rain pounded Metro Manila since Monday night, with state weather forecasters warning the rain may persist until Wednesday.
